Memory, Identity and the Landscape

This collection looks at the interplay between memory, identity and the landscapes that shape our experiences. This collection was shaped by experiences with my grandmother, she had dementia, so memory and loss were already woven into our lives long before she passed.

It made me question what we truly remember. Life isn’t recalled in long stretches but in little fragments, like post-it notes, moments that overlap and blur together.

I've painted in this way, areas blurred, ovelapped, a signal of a landscape or is it emotion? These paintings are those pauses, they hold the space and allow you to catch your breath.

Landscapes Shaped by memory

Each piece captures the essence of a place held in feeling more than fact.

Capturing the passage of time

These paintings hold memory and landscape together, blurred, shifting, overlapping, just like recollection itself.

Moments of Calm

Perhaps they might remind you of your own moments, a place you once stood, a person you loved, or simply a time you stopped to catch your breath.
