Workshops

Below are a list of workshops I will be running in 2024. I usually only run one full day class a month between February - October. All bookings are taken directly by the venue.

September
Relaxing through Abstract Painting
Saturday 14th September 2024
Hawkwood College, Stroud
9am - 4pm (plus afternoon tea until 4:30pm)
£115 (lunch, drinks and afternoon tea included)

This workshop will introduce you to different ways of creating abstract art in response to your surroundings. We will explore the outdoors and beautiful grounds of Hawkwood but also use the sounds, smells and textures as inspiration. This will all be achieved through guided exercises and support from your tutor Christina.

No judgement will be placed on the outcome of your work. This day is centred on the enjoyment and relaxation that comes from creating
abstracts. There will be laughing as well as moments of calm and reflection. An enjoyable day creating whilst giving you the chance to unwind. Plus, lunch and afternoon tea are included—a real treat to unwind and forget your worries.

We will use a mixture of materials but acrylic paints and inks will be the main medium being used. You’ll learn various skills and techniques to continue painting abstracts at home. But above all, it’s a day to escape and take some time out for yourself.

As we will be venturing outside at some points please come with relevant clothing and footwear and something to sit on – even if it’s just a bag.

October
Creating Mini Abstracts
Saturday 5th October 2024
Prema Arts, Uley
10am - 4pm
£65 (workshop only lunch and refreshments are extra)

Join painter Christina Sadler to discover the sheer pleasure of painting through mini abstracts.  In today’s session you will be shown the fun of painting, loosening up your style and taking the pressure out of being too focused on the end result. Learn how to enjoy the relaxed process that goes into creating a mini abstract, using acrylic paints and inks to learn a variety of skills and techniques to carry on painting at home.

We anticipate that by the end of the day you will have a collection of mini abstracts to take home and frame if you choose, but we are equally as excited for you to use this as an opportunity to create with no end result in mind and instead just relax into the process.
