I started this painting without really knowing where it was going. I painted instinctively, following the movement of the marks and letting the layers build until a sense of water and landscape began to emerge.
It reminds me of watching a stream flow, following its path as it moves quietly onwards. I love the way a small stream can become part of something much bigger, eventually finding its way into a river and then out towards the sea.
There is a calmness in that sense of movement. Nothing forced, nothing hurried. Just water finding its way.
