Step into the trees and the world seems to soften around you. The edges blur, the light breaks through in small, unexpected places, and the forest becomes somewhere to feel hidden, held and safe.

I love the way light behaves in a forest. It catches on the leaves, spills across the ground in changing shapes and finds its way through even the densest parts of the trees. In this painting, the trees are only hinted at. Instead, blurred layers of light and colour create the feeling of being surrounded by them, of looking through the gaps and catching glimpses of what lies beyond.

For me, The Forest Within is about more than a place in nature. It is about the places we find inside ourselves when we step away from the noise. A reminder that even when we feel hidden away, there can still be light finding its way through.
