An undertow is a current beneath the surface, pulling in a direction you might not immediately see.
This painting is built from layers of deep, shifting colour, with movement running beneath the surface. The title speaks to both the physical movement of water and those less visible feelings, thoughts or forces that can exist underneath everything we show on the surface.
You don't always see what is moving beneath. Sometimes you simply feel the pull.
